One pound ground round

one pound ground sirloin

four cloves garlic

one half medium onion

one tablespoon Kosher salt

one teaspoon fresh ground black pepper

Chop garlic and onion fine and mix all ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Form into 1 inch balls and fry in large pan over medium heat stirring frequently until nice and brown on all sides. add 6 small cans of Hunts tomato sauce and 1 tablespoon of McCormick's Italian seasoning. Simmer for about 30 minutes to an hour stirring and adding more tomato sauce if needed. Avoid chlorine water. Taste occasionally and adjust salt and spices as you see fit.
Dean鈥檚 Spaghetti Sauce

2 - 28 ounce cans tomato puree

2 - 18 ounce cans tomato paste

32 ounces water (approximately, add more or less to your thickness preference)

2 tbls minced garlic

2-3 bay leaves

1 tbls dried basil

1 tbls dried parsley

1 tbls dried oregano

录 tsp dried thyme

录 tsp dried sage

Mix all ingredients in a 4 quart Dutch oven; bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat, cover and simmer over very low heat several hours for flavors to meld, stirring occasionally. Do not let it boil too rapidly. Since tomato products seem to vary in sweetness, a couple teaspoons of sugar can be added if a little extra sweetness is desired.
Just mix up ground beef, ground sausage, use seasoning you like, add in breadcrumbs, shape in the size you want. We like to make them really big, put in a skillet of heated olive oil and garlic and brown quickly, then into a roasting pan and into a 325 degree oven until they are done...time depends on how big you're making them. My family loves it when I do these about softball size.
